Sr. Design Engineer

This is a dynamic role, requiring simultaneous management of multiple ongoing projects. As a member of this team, your responsibilities would be to give focused technical support to the CAD team, interpret client inputs, and coordination with client.

Responsibilities

  • The role involves working very closely with client’s Design Managers, Project Managers, Site Engineers and other key members of the project team.
  • Maintain project management information including daily project status report, setting up target dates, allocation of hours / work to CAD designers.
  • Reviewing architectural designs and drawings, material samples, and technical submittals and ensure co-ordination with Client’s Design Manager for the same.
  • Monitor projects risks and work with team members to identify/raising RFI’s, and raising technical queries to client.
  • Quality checking joinery shop drawings, construction drawings against architect design and liaising with to ensure the completed project aligns with client/s design and manufacturing requirements.
  • Ensure project team members submit project work time accurately and timely and manage billing with clients.
  • Build positive relationships with internal and client personnel and serve as a reliable and trusted advisor
  • Facilitate all team member communication utilizing varying appropriate communication methods and frequencies

Qualifications

  • More than 5 years of professional experience as an Architectural/Mechanical Engineer
  • Good hands on AutoCAD (2D & 3D), SolidWorks and Inventor.
  • Strong Decision Making, Technical Competency, People Management, Execution Skills and the ability to stay focused in difficult situations.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the joinery shop/manufacturing drawings for Furniture/Millwork industries.
  • Ability to work with multiple projects simultaneously
  • High English Communication Skills (Verbal & Written)
  • Teamworking, relationship building, and ability to lead and motivate team members
